Women in Technology and ClimateTech: Driving a Sustainable Future
International Women’s Day is a great opportunity to recognize the impact of women in technology and sustainable innovation. In Argentina, more and more women are making their mark in these fields, developing solutions that not only transform industries but also contribute to building a more sustainable future.

The Impact of Women in the Sector
In recent years, the presence of women in STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) has been increasing, although there is still progress to be made. According to a report by Chicas en Tecnología, only 1 in 3 students in these fields are women. However, things are changing: thanks to training initiatives and more inclusive spaces, more women are stepping up to lead innovation projects with real impact.
A clear example is the climate tech sector, where technology serves the planet. From solutions that optimize resource use to projects that help reduce emissions, many professionals are driving ideas that merge technology with sustainability.
Amelia Balsamo, our CTO at Uali, has always believed in the power of inclusion. As one of her favorites Sheryl Sandberg´s quotes says in her book Lean In:
“With every woman who gets involved, we get closer to the goal of true equality”
Startups, by their inherently innovative nature and adaptability, play a key role in this transformation. Companies born in this and the past decade—and naturally, those yet to come—are led by generations like Millennials and Centennials, who bring with them an ingrained perspective on inclusion.
The plurality of opinions, multiculturalism, and openness to new ways of thinking are defining traits of these generations. This is reflected in companies that aim to transcend geographical, cultural, and ideological boundaries. UALI is a prime example of this spirit, embracing diversity and technology as drivers of innovation with a global impact.
Women in Leadership
Women are making a difference in these fields. Their diverse perspectives, creativity, and analytical skills are essential for developing innovative solutions and accelerating the adoption of more environmentally responsible business models.
"More and more women are leading projects that combine technology and sustainability. Seeing this growth and being part of the change is inspiring. At Uali, we know that the key lies in collaboration and leveraging diverse ideas to innovate with impact." Amelia Balsamo, CTO of Uali
At Uali, we believe that the future of innovation and energy efficiency is built with diverse, collaborative teams who are passionate about what they do. That is why, on a day like today, we want to celebrate the talent and vision of all the women who are transforming the industry and paving the way for future generations. Let’s innovate together!
